School Closure Procedure

Coronavirus Plan

Our school will only be closed if either the Government makes a decision to close schools or if Public Health England advises our school to close due to an increased risk to our school community.

In this event, the Head teacher will liaise with the Local Authority and Chair of Governors.

The decision will be communicated to staff and parents via

  • The school website
  • Text Messaging to all staff and parents
  • Social Media
  • LGfL Opencheck
  • Local Authority and local media websites.

Please note - you will not be able to call the school after the decision has been made

Once a closure is made, the decision to either remain closed, or reopen, will be made and communicated at 3pm each subsequent day.

In the event of staff self-isolation or illness, staff in school will be used to cover classes. Teachers and TAs may cover different classes. Some classes may have to be split to ensure safe ratios are maintained. If we cannot cover the children and classrooms safely we may have to take the difficult decision to close the school. The school will not close during the middle of a school day and we will attempt to give as much notice as possible. However, these are an extremely rare set of circumstances.

Please ensure that an up to date telephone number is logged in our system to ensure you can be contacted.

Your child's education is important and we will be setting lessons and tasks via our Class Pages during any closure. You can download our Remote Learning procedures below.
