    FRIENDS OF ANSON AGM

Thank you to everyone who attended the Friends of Anson AGM on Friday morning.

As a charity, the AGM is an important process to agree the finances, appoint the committee and plan for the year ahead.

During 2024 to 2025 the events and donations ran a profit of just under £10,000. Our big events, the Summer Fayre and Winter Fayre, were supplemented by the Sponsored Run and the Bake Sales to boost profits. It meant that, with money already in the account, over £12,000 was donated to the school.

The imminent arrival of the playground equipment will be the biggest visible change from the work of the previous year.

This year Friends of Anson will continue to support some of our annual projects such as the Year 6 hoodies and Wizard Theatre. They will also support an exciting innovation project and some of our green initiatives.

    YOUNG ARTISTS

Some of the children in Year One have become published artists as part of the Young Artists programme.

The ‘This is Me’ art competition received submissions from across the UK and many of the Year One children are featured.

Congratulations to Aiden, whose artwork features on the front cover of one of the editions of this exciting collection.

    FREAKY FRIDAY FUN

The first Friends of Anson event of the year is the Freaky Friday Disco.

For pupils in EYFS and Year 1&2 the disco will run from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Pupils with tickets will stay at school at the end of the day and parents will collect them from the front entrance at 4:30pm.

The Key Stage Two disco will begin run from 5:00pm so children will need to go home after school. Tickets will be available from Monday 29th September on the School Gateway app. If you are a parent at Anson and able to volunteer to help out at the event we would love to hear from you.

    ROCK STEADY GIG DATES

The first Rock Steady gig of the year will take place on Friday, 19th December at 2:00pm.

This is the last day of the Autumn Term and will see The Rapping Rabbits, Thunder Kittens, The Electrifying Eyes, The Swimming Piranhas and The Singing Snakes take to the stage.

There are currently 9 spaces in the Rock Steady bands. If you would like your child (Year 1 to Year 6) to join the fun, sign up at rocksteadymusicschool.com.
