    WANTED

    Governors for Anson Primary School

    The Governing Board of this popular, local primary school is seeking to appoint two new co-opted governors.

    Closing date: Friday 7th November

    Our school governing body is made up of governors with a range of backgrounds, skills and experiences who volunteer together for the benefit of the school.

    We are currently looking for two co-opted governors and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:

    • an interest in the performance of the school
    • a desire to contribute to and represent the community
    • an open and enquiring mind
    • the ability to look at issues objectively
    • the confidence to ask questions and join in debate
    • a willingness to listen and make informed judgements
    • the ability to work well with others
    • time and commitment to offer.

    We are particularly interested in people who have skills including budgeting/ financial management, health and safety, qualified working teacher experience, and those with board/committee chairing experience.

    People from the global majority are currently under-represented on the Governing Body and are strongly encouraged to apply.

    The role offers a chance to develop new skills, to work with governors and staff to improve the school, and a sense of achievement and really making a difference.

    The commitment, at a minimum, is attending and preparing for a Full Governing Body Meeting for around two hours every term, and similar preparation and attendance for at least one subcommittee each term.

    New governors should also plan to undertake training which is provided by Brent council and can be done during or outside office hours.

    The closing date for applications is Friday 7th November. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview week commencing 17th November, at the school, in the early evening.
