    ANTI-RACISM AT ANSON

On Monday 22nd September, Anson Primary School begins a two year programme with Leeds Beckett University.

The programme is an accredited course which is offered to all schools in Brent and will eventually end up with our school being recognised as an anti-racist establishment.

At Anson we challenge racism and promote kindness, tolerance and respect in our school. We believe that we all belong together and that everyone can and should be ambitious for their future. We want everyone to enjoy their time at school and to achieve well. We show resilience and determination in all that we do and we will always challenge unfairness and discrimination wherever we see it.

This is a school where these values are in our vision and underpinned in our learning behaviours. The programme will support everyone with the  practice of opposing racism and promoting racial equality.

On the 22nd children in Key Stage Two will enjoy a workshop from the Programme leaders. In the evening all staff  and representatives from the Governing Body will take part in the first training session.

As you will all be aware our school is a special place with over 40 languages, many religions and a vibrant mix of ethnicities. We are often a shining example of the way the rest of the world should behave, accept others and offer opportunity.  The vision is that this programme prepares our children to carry forward those values into their role in society - whatever that may be. For more information please reach out to Miss Callaghan who will be leading us through the programme.
