Writing weekly focus – Creative writing.

Our key text this half term is The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy.

The main character is Jub. She lives in her cosy hole in a forest and has a job to do every evening.

This week we are going to write in role.

You will write a diary entry from the perspective of Jub.

When we write a diary entry it is usually after an event has happened. Jub has a frightening experience in the forest one evening. When she wakes up the next day she begins to describe what had happened in her diary.

Now listen to the recording of ' The Lost Happy Endings'.

How do you think Jub feels? How would you feel?

Use the plan to help you get started.

You should try to use past tense, fronted adverbials, time connectives and lots of amazing adjectives.

When you have finished, use the checklist to make sure you have included everything.
