Writing weekly focus - Fairy Tales

Look at this picture. It shows a girl called Jub.

Jub lives in a forest, by herself, in her own 'Cosy hole'. She has all of her favourite things around her.

Talk to someone in your family about this picture. Why do you think she has these things around her? What are your favourite things?

Draw a picture of your own 'Cosy hole'. What things would you have around you if you?

Colour your picture in carefully.

Write a sentence to describe each item you chose and your reason for your choice.

For example: I would draw a book. One of my favourite books is 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I would choose a book because books help me to relax and I love to create images in my head from the words that I read.

Try to upload a picture of your completed 'Cosy hole' and description onto the Anson blog to share with everyone.

You could also try to recreate your 'Cosy hole' using Keynote or Book Creator if you have access to the apps.

Draw 3 identical circles.

Cut one circle into 2 equal pieces, cut another circle into 4 equal pieces and cut the final one into 8 equal pieces. See if you can find different equivalent fractions using all of the pieces.

See if you can find fractions in food, like waffles, chocolate or use apples, pizza or biscuits to make your own fractions.
