The iPad Apple Teacher Programme
Apple Regional Training Centres create a community to share best practice and support teaching staff to attain Apple Teacher status, a professional learning programme designed to support them improve their use of Apple technology.
Anson Primary School is committed to facilitating training for teachers to develop skills and build confidence to use Apple Technology in the classroom. We are offering teachers the opportunity to send staff to 6 accredited training sessions, running throughout the year on a Tuesday afternoon from 4pm to 5.30pm, which will coach them to become an accredited Apple Teacher.
SESSION 1: 17th September 2019 Introduction to iPad
In this session we will introduce Apple Teacher and look at how your iPad can be used effectively in the classroom using a few key apps. Everyone will earn their first Apple Teacher badge.
SESSION 2: 15th October 2019
Using iPad to enhance writing
In this session we will look at how your iPad can enhance writing by exploring the Pages app, looking at different ways to stimulate writing, including story telling and photography
SESSION 3: 19th November 2019
Fostering Creativity with iPad
This session we focus on the Everyone Can Create resources, exploring how photography, video, music and drawing can open up opportunities across the curriculum.
SESSION 4: 14th January 2020
The Key(note) of Learning
In this session we will explore the power of Keynote as a tool for teaching and learning and move from understanding how the app works to building complex animations in less than 90 minutes.
SESSION 5: 10th March 2020
Innovative workflow with Numbers
This session will focus on the power of Numbers as a tool for handling data, but also as a template for creating engaging workflow and portfolios. We will also complete another Apple Teacher badge.
SESSION 6: 16th June 2020
Let there be music
The final session will explore the power of music in the classroom. Using GarageBand we will create soundtracks for presentations and showcase how are writing can be made into music.
In addition to these 6 face-to-face workshops, teachers who sign up will be encouraged to share ways in which they have improved their practice following the sessions. They will also need to work through online courses via the Apple Teacher Learning Centre. We therefore understand that committing to this program takes a significant amount of time, which is why we are offering the training free of charge. The courses will be facilitated by Apple Distinguished Educator, Simon Pile and all staff will be able to receive online support throughout the course using e-mail or FaceTime.

Please include your name, the name of the staff member(s) you would like to receive Apple Teacher Training and contact details. This training is relevant for all staff, teachers and teaching assistants, and no prior experience using iPad is required.
We often welcome groups of Digital Leaders to Anson for a morning or afternoon of creativity.
Using the Everyone Can Create resources we explore fun activities that will give your Digital Leaders a chance to create drawing, music, film and photography to share their messages of online safety.
